Welcome World 2008

January 25th, 2008

Would like to thank all my readers and support all these years! Its been ages again since the last i post any new songs! Very sorry about it.. It’s been a very challenging year for me 2007…  Year 2008 will be another new chapter and new challenge…  Recently i came across a blog from the CEO of Tune Money , Tengku Zafrul .

Something i would like to share excerpts from his blog:-

”I notice that people an do so much more than they give themselves credit for. I once read the phrase: “throw your heart over the bar and your body will follow”. What this means is, take the chance and do your best. Somehow, you will find the resources to do it. Because if you were offered the job, it means someone, somewhere believed you were capable of doing it.

So now, what’s left, is for you to believe in yourself. And work your butt off to justify their faith in you.

A CEO today has to be hands-on. He or she cannot delegate and go out for another round of golf. That may have been what it was like before but that time has passed. You need to know what’s going on at every level. Things are likely to slip if you let them. It helps if you’re an insomniac especially when you find yourself in meetings at three in the morning. You have to learn to be a performer because most likely you will be the face of the company and if people like and trust you, they will like and trust your company.

Although you may be tempted to oversell, don’t! Try to keep it real. A little credibility goes a long way. You’re going to have to work harder than you ever have.

Being a CEO is not a glamour job.

It just appears that way.”

Traditional Music… Gu Qin

August 4th, 2006

This GuQin masterpiece, “Flowing Water” by Guan Pinghu

Guqin

The GuQin, a seven-stringed zither, is China’s oldest stringed instrument, with a history of some 3000 years. Chinese music has a long history, and its essence is best expressed on the guqin. In Imperial China, a well educated scholar was expected to be skilled in four arts:

· Qin (the guqin),
· Qi (the game of Go),
· Shu (calligraphy) and
· Hua (painting).

(excerpts from North America GuQin Association)

It is very commonly confused between Gu Zheng and Gu Qin…. As described above, GuQin is seven-stringed zither, wherelse GuZheng a modern Guqin like instrument with 25 stringed zither.. But my fav is still the sound of GuQin… Listening to it simply takes you back to the ancient times… “Pure, Innocent and Peace”.

I simply love the sound of Guqin, listening to it simply purify your thoughts…. The Music is simply beautiful!

I hope everyone will enjoy it.

Bustling City Life…

Always by Ashley Beedie’s Mahavishu Remix

BAmboo

Sorry guys for not blogging for a long time now! Juggling to get my Master Degree blah blah blah alltogether. Just to let you know i am still around!

Then again, Music is always there with me (thanks to my IPOD) … Sometimes it is so irritating with noise pollutions, phone calls, lady babbling for hours on the phone sitting next to me, buses, taxis arghhh! the list goes on and on….Just can’t stand it sometimes… makes me go nuts!

You know what is the best solution? Simple plug your IPOD and your fav music… SUDDENLY everything seems so GREAT! Even the lady sitting next to me seems so nice… just changed everything.

I hope the world is just as simple as that…. War? Hatred? Just plug in your IPOD and make friends…

Four Seasons, Vivaldi

Four Seasons by Vivaldi

Simply marvelous piece of work! Enjoy this easy listening classical music…

 Food for thoughts….

Recently read something from my favourite coach Jack Canfield.

Are You Confusing Your Brain?
How to Program Your Mind to Attract What You Want

by Jack Canfield, America’s Success Coach

We all aspire to be, do and have great things. Yet most of us simply aren’t creating the results we want. We don’t have enough money, romance, success or joy in our lives. But what we need to understand is that greatness exists in all of us. It is simply up to us to pull it out of ourselves. We all have genius.
We just need to learn how to apply it.

Decide What You Want
In order to get what you want, you must first decide what you want. Most people really foul up at this crucial first step because they simply can’t see how it’s possible to get what they want — so they don’t even let themselves want it.

Don’t sabotage yourself that way!

What scientists now know about how the brain works is that you must first decide WHAT you want, before your brain can figure out HOW to get it. Once you lock-in your desires, your mind and the universe can step in.

Are you ready to get started? Read the rest of this entry »

Café del Mar

January 24th, 2006

Cafe Del Mar by Carlitos

I have been listening to lots of great music from Café del Mar collections… Ever wonder what is Café del Mar is all about?

Café del Mar is a bar located in San Antonio, Ibiza. Tourists flock there on a daily basis during the summer to view the beautiful sunset. Café del Mar is the original “the sunset bar” in San Antonio opened by Ramón Guiral, Carlos Andrea, and José Les in 1978.

Part of watching the sunset is the music - described as ambient, easy listening instrumental music. The bar originally sold their own tapes of the music but a series of Café del Mar CDs have been sold. Currently (as of 2005) there are 12 volumes plus 2 albums commemorating the 20th and 25th Anniversary. A total of about 9 million albums have been sold worldwide.

If You’re Not The One, Daniel Bedingfield

January 18th, 2006

David Bedingfield

If You’re Not The One by Daniel Bedingfield….

A great Love song… Been listening to all the great Love songs lately, I guess its season of Love now. This is the best track for me from Daniel Bedingfield!

Sang with True Love,  True Heart and Soul…

It’s simply beautiful!

From the lyrics:

I never know what the future brings
But I know you are here with me now
We’ll make it through
And I hope you are the one I share my life with
And I wish that you could be the one I die with
And I praying you’re the one I build my home with
I hope I love you all my life

The power of Love is immesurable… limitless on how much one can give, it is how much one can take. Sharing your life with your Love ones is the world most beautiful thing ever. I hope to share my Love with all my life.

Shoulda, Woulda, Coulda by Brian McKnight

Love Water Lily

Great Love Song by Brian McKnight…

Love songs can only be Love songs when it is sang with Love.
Love can only be real if it is Love from the heart.
One can feel the Love within by just listening to it.
Love is an universal language, a language that speaks for itself.

One can hate Love, take Love for granted, but don’t stop giving Love.
It can be the best thing ever happen…

Letting The Cables Sleep, by Bush

Letting the Cables Sleeps, by Bush

Bush

Another great track from my Cafe Del Mar collection. Been listening to this track on and on, seems like a sad, living in the dark, but the combination of electronic instruments, base, makes this track very special. It may sounds sad, but i do see bright light listening to it.

Sometimes, we might think that we dont belong in this world, not because we are weird , its because “You are Special” everyone is unique in its own way, it up to us to find ourselves.

“The Future of Classical Music Lies in China”

January 3rd, 2006

With over 1.3 billion people China is the world’s most populous country. It is a country with a very rich musical culture dating back to the dawn of the Chinese civilization as early as 1122BC - 256BC. The Russo-European classical tradition had a major impact on Chinese music until the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976) banned intellectual pursuits including the education and performance of western classical music (though some continued to indulge their enjoyment of the music as performers and listeners at great peril). Today western classical music is en vogue in China, and becoming increasingly popular with the masses as venues clamour to book top western orchestras. This coupled with China’s world class performers such as Lang Lang, Jian Wang, and Yundi Li - make China a major power in the world of classical music.

The Berliner Philharmoniker recently embarked on a concert tour and experienced the phenomenon first hand. There is an excellent, well written article reporting on this tour by Claus Spahn at Die Ziet (in German), The English translation of the article - The long march to Beethoven is also available.

Summer in Paris, by Cam and Anggun.

Another great track from my Hotel Costes Vol 5 Collection…. In this cold winter, wouldn’t it nice having a nice cup of coffee by the sidewalk cafe of Paris! Overlooking Le’ Eifel Tower.. This reminds me of Van Gogh’s painting of Cafe Terrace at Night. Ahhhhh, that’s life!

Summer in Paris

Its all my imaginative thoughts… but what do you know! There are in fact someone out there enjoying his coffee by the sidewalk cafe SUMMER TIME. There is always a mirror of everything we see… Rich/Poor , Winter/Summer , Success/Failure . It’s in our own hands sometime to make the mirror shine!

Vincent Van Gogh, Cafe Terrace at Night

December 12th, 2005
Cafe Terrace at Night

Cafe Terrace at Night , September 1888

Vincent van Gogh was born March 30, 1853, in Groot-Zundert, the Netherlands

I have recently purchased 3 reproduction of Van Gogh paintings for my office decor… I love his painting… The longer you look at his painting , you appreciate more… Cafe Terrace is nicely housed in my working room :)

Painted at the same time as “Night Cafe”, this colourful outdoor view is a less dramatic, more picturesque work, the vision of a relaxed spectator who enjoys the charm of his surroundings without any moral concern.

It recalls Van Gogh’s when he wrote that “the night is more alive and more richly coloured than the day”.

Evan Williams’ Ten Rules for Web Startups

November 30th, 2005
Web Startup

Ten Rules for Web Startups Evan has a good list of rules for internet start ups. I like Number 3.

“#3: Be Casual
We’re moving into what I call the era of the “Casual Web” (and casual content creation). This is much bigger than the hobbyist web or the professional web. Why? Because people have lives. And now, people with lives also have broadband. If you want to hit the really big home runs, create services that fit in with—and, indeed, help—people’s everyday lives without requiring lots of commitment or identity change. Flickr enables personal publishing among millions of folks who would never consider themselves personal publishers—they’re just sharing pictures with friends and family, a casual activity. Casual games are huge. Skype enables casual conversations.”

Where is the Love? , Black Eyed Peas

November 30th, 2005

Where is the LOVE!? by Black Eyed Peas

Can’t imagine a really good Rap music that raps about love, culture, hunger etc. Cheerios to Black Eyed Peas!

“But if you only have love for your own race, Then you only leave space to discriminate and to discriminate only generates hate.

People killing people dying, Children hurtin you hear them crying . Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek? Where is the love?

If love and peace so strong, why are there pieces of love that don’t belong. Nations dropping bombs, chemical gases filling lungs of little ones.
With ongoing suffering, As the youth die young. So ask yourself is the loving really strong?

So I can ask myself really what is going wrong, with this world that we living in. People keep on giving in ,Makin wrong decisions
Only visions of them livin and Not respecting each other, Deny thy brother

The wars’ going on but the reasons’ undercover, The truth is kept secret . Swept under the rug
If you never know truth , Then you never know love Where’s the love

Most of us only care about money makin. Selfishness got us followin the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media, Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting their young minds faster than bacteria , Kids wanna act like what the see in the cinema
Whatever happened to the values of humanity, Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love, we’re spreading anomosity. Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity

That’s the reason why sometimes I’m feeling under
That’s the reason why sometimes I’m feeling down
It’s no wonder why sometimes I’m feeling under
I gotta keep my faith alive, until love is found

US$100 Laptop

November 21st, 2005

US$100 laptop sound like a dream comes true! Personally I think its a great solution. Computer penetration is definately too low now. We need to get everyone connected somehow into Information Superhighway. US$100 laptop is great for developing countries… This is a great way to speed up the learning with use of technology to all kids and even adult. Great Work! I will definately get one for myself.

As for United Nation:-
I strongly suggest that United Nation first feed the poor children with food rather than a US$100 laptop. Global poverty is a big issue! United Nation tag-line should be “One hamburger per child”.

High and Dry, Jamie Cullum

November 21st, 2005
Jamie Cullum

High and Dry by Jamie Cullum

This 26 year old has brought jazz music to the masses. His Debut Album “Twenty Something” sold over 2 million copies and received a Grammy nomination. His album “Catching Tales” offers more pop influenced jazz. He wrote the entire album (except a couple of jazz standards) in 4 months.

I just love Jamie’s music…. listening to his track “High and Dry” , writing my feelings…. Its not about the lyrics.. its about the music, the tune, Jamie’s voice.. GREAT WORK Jamie!

High & Dry

You can purchase this CD here Twentysomething

Respect! Not everything is all about how old you are, how many years of experience you have…. There are many things we can learn from young people. Their innocence, Their Pureness, Their unlimited Love…

When we were Babies, we don’t care for anything at all, we will just do whatever we want, wherever we are, without hesitations…. As we grow older, we were told not to do this, we can’t do that. Many times, we are afraid try new things, make a big leap, make a big step because our comfort zone. Afraid to take a new step, afraid of changes, afraid of losses.

Sometimes, we should try to make a first step out of our comfort zone. Try new things… world without limit, Spread our wings! Do great things! Why some people are so successful in life?

They DARE TO TAKE THE FIRST STEPS! You might see great things… Believe in yourself!

Cheers!
